Term 1: Learn to play

We run a learn to play programme for players who are new to canoe polo in the first school term. Players from all schools are welcome. We cover everything from getting in a boat, paddling in a straight line, throwing to rules, tactics and rolling.

Learn to Play starts 5 Feb to 9 April no polo 2 April for Easter Monday at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, Kilbirnie. Cost $115 including affiliation fee of $35.

Schools Regional and National Championships:

Schools regionals is hosted by Wellington in March and is the qualifiers for the Schools Nationals that is held approximately a month later. We encourage all school players to participate in this competition regardless of whether they have a school team and want to qualify or not as it is a great opportunity to get some games against different teams.

Teams representing their schools from around the country compete at regional qualification tournaments to earn entry to the New Zealand Canoe Polo Schools Championships. The top teams from each of the qualification events are eligible to contest U15, U19 division I, and U19 division II categories at the national event.
